At the TecnoCarne expo last week in Sao Paolo, Brazil, Marel Meat teamed up with Marel Poultry, Marel Further Processing and Sulmaq to shine a spotlight on smarter ways to approach modern food production challenges.

Large numbers visited the Marel stand to hear about our latest innovations in primary, secondary and further processing and to see our equipment in action.

Automation is currently one of the most important drivers of the meat industry and the demonstrations of Marel’s MSS Splitting Saw drew a lot of attention because of this.

The MSS is a fully automatic machine, which divides the carcass in to equal halves in one single operation. It is part of the M-line Robots solution, which combines the latest 3D scanning technology, industrial robots and TwinTools to set a new standard in slaughter line robotization.

With this Splitting Saw we show that not only are large plants able to reach slaughter automation. Also the medium-size processors in Latin America are now starting to see the benefits."

At the Marel stand, we also presented the new generation Frank-A-Matic Linker for filling, linking and hanging cellulose and collagen casing. Leveraging over 50 years of equipment knowledge and technological expertise, the Frank-A-Matic Linker offers industry-leading consistency in weight and length control for continuous, high-speed cellulose and collagen cased products.
